La Policía Nacional Civil (PNC) capturó a Carlos Alfredo Padilla Rivas, de 21 años, quien será remitido por los delitos de homicidio culposo y conducción peligrosa, tras ocasionar un percance vial en el que una persona falleció. El hecho ocurrió la madrugada del sábado sobre la calle principal que conecta los distritos de Ciudad Barrios y Chapeltique, en San Miguel Norte. Según la PNC, Padilla Rivas conducía una motocicleta, perdió el control y se accidentó; su acompañante falleció en el lugar, mientras que el detenido resultó con algunos golpes. La prueba de alcotest determinó 102 grados de alcohol en aliento al momento de conducir.
En otro hecho, en Usulután, una mujer y un hombre resultaron lesionados luego de que el vehículo en el que se conducían cayera al fondo de una quebrada bajo el puente El Coyolito, en el kilómetro 100 de la carretera Litoral, cantón El Coyolito, Jiquilisco, Usulután Oeste. El conductor de un sedán negro perdió el control del vehículo, que se precipitó a una profundidad aproximada de 50 metros. En el automotor se transportaban tres personas, quienes fueron rescatadas por personal de la PNC, Bomberos, Fuerza Armada, Sistema de Emergencias Médicas y Cruz Roja seccional Jiquilisco; dos de los lesionados fueron estabilizados e inmovilizados y trasladados al Hospital Nacional de Jiquilisco.
De acuerdo con el Observatorio Nacional de Seguridad Vial, del 1 de enero al 11 de diciembre de 2025 se registran 4,448 siniestros viales en el oriente del país. San Miguel contabiliza 2,555 accidentes, con 1,058 personas lesionadas y 99 fallecidas; seguido de Usulután, con 900 siniestros, 520 lesionados y 65 fallecidos.
La Policía Nacional Civil (PNC) informó que arrestó a un conductor que atropelló a un peatón y le causó la muerte en el occidente del país. El hecho ocurrió en el kilómetro 53 y medio de la carretera que conduce de San Salvador hacia Santa Ana.
Según la PNC, el detenido fue identificado como Douglas José Morales Escobar, quien conducía el camión involucrado a una velocidad inadecuada.
El conductor será procesado por homicidio culposo.

«31 Minutos» anuncia su película navideña “Calurosa Navidad” con la participación de Julieta Venegas
La serie infantil 31 Minutos estrenará esta temporada navideña su película Calurosa Navidad, que contará con la participación especial de la cantante Julieta Venegas.
La producción presenta al pueblo de Titirilquén, que se queda sin los regalos de Santa Claus debido a una crisis climática. En la historia, el periodista Juan Carlos Bodoque inicia una misión para recuperarlos, mientras Tulio, Juanín y otros personajes preparan un especial navideño.
Los creadores del programa, Pedro Peirano y Álvaro Díaz, señalaron que la historia ha evolucionado desde su aparición previa en un capítulo de la serie y en espectáculos en vivo.
31 Minutos, estrenado en 2003, se ha consolidado como un fenómeno latinoamericano con giras, conciertos, museos y su reciente aparición en el Tiny Desk de NPR.
Julieta Venegas tendrá una participación como invitada en la película, donde interactuará con los personajes en el estudio y cantará al menos una canción.
